I created a list of independent revision activities for my students. Our parent teacher interviews are coming up and I wanted to have a list of activities which students can complete by themselves at home, as well as give parents study tools to suggest to their children.
I used SmartArt in MS PowerPoint to create a handout for my students. You can download the PPT itself, and use it to customise the SmartArt and make your own handout.
There is a generic poster with activities which would apply to most History students.
There are also two specific posters for my VCE History revolutions students and my IB History students.
Download the files here:
- PPT file which you can use to create your own revision poster
- Generic History Revision activities poster in PDF
- Specific posters for VCE Revolutions students (in Victoria, Australia) and one for IB DP History students.
I hope you enjoy playing around with the PPT and that you create some great SmartArt posters. Watch out, you can easily waste time playing around with this (guilt as charged).
Ideas for this came from my brainstrust, my online staff room of international colleagues and general reservoir of wonderful teaching ideas: Twitter. (See @KKNTeachLearn, @Jmosley_history, and @jadeguest‘s tweets below.)
