Google has digitised millions of newspapers. They form an excellent source of primary source material. Students really like reading the papers from significant dates. The ads, the other articles, the images, the fashion, even the weather forecast really bring an event to life.

- Enter a search term
- Click on Search Tools
- Click on Time
- Click on Custom Range, enter dates
- Note that they are mainly American newspapers, but by adding “site:.au” to your search query, you can get Australian newspapers too.
